Criteria for Review
Materials selected for inclusion in the online collection are reviewed according to the following criteria:
Approval
Approval for review and inclusion in the online database has been granted by the developing organization and a complete set of curriculum or other resource material is available.
Design of Curriculum
The curriculum presents specific, measurable, and achievable learning objectives or competencies; promotes learner-centered, participatory teaching and learning; and, where appropriate, is sequenced along a continuum of increasing complexity. The curriculum's content is reviewed for its soundness and accuracy, and whether it is up to date and reflects current best practices.
Teaching and Learning
The curriculum is designed to build upon learners’ existing knowledge and skills, as well as enhance critical thinking and creativity with the intent of increasing independence and self-reliance of learners, and is relevant to learners’ lives and to their communities.
Presentation for Intended Audience
Materials are easily understood; that is, the content and wording is well-matched with the assumed skill level of facilitators and learners, and the format is user-friendly and inviting.
